Philadelphia Holocaust Memorial

Philadelphia, PA

As the home of the first Holocaust Memorial in North America, our firm was hired by the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation to design a memorial garden and plaza on Fairmount Park’s Ben Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia’s most prestigious boulevard.  The design provided a series of places for interpretive text, interactive media, social interaction and quiet contemplation.

The Philadelphia Holocaust Memorial Garden consists of the following major components:  the monument to six million Jewish martyrs, an eternal flame, 6 interpretive panels, a memorial tree from the Theresienstadt camp, and a woodland garden.
