JOSEPH T. SIKORA, RLA, ASLA, Principal
Joe Sikora is the leader of Sikora Wells Appel with over 30 years of experience in landscape architecture, planning and urban design. He joined the firm in 1990 and became principal in 2001. He has been involved in a wide array of award winning projects including university campuses, health care centers, mixed use communities, public parks, memorials, roof gardens, residences and urban plazas. His design approach strives for innovative and timeless solutions with a focus on creating socially and ecologically sustainable places. Joe has taught graduate and undergraduate design studios at Temple University and Rutgers University. He received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Syracuse College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and is licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Maryland and Kentucky.
DANIEL J. CHIECO, RLA, ASLA, Senior Associate
Dan has over 30 years of experience providing management and design services for a wide range of projects, from concept through construction and monitoring. He has managed and designed projects for Villanova University, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, Merrill Lynch Hopewell, and the revitalization of Hunting Park in Philadelphia, PA. His meticulous attention to detail, his broad knowledge base, and his enthusiasm for creative solutions make him a pleasure to work with. He is an active member on Eastampton Township's Planning Board, Eastampton Township's Environmental Council, and Penn State's College of Arts & Architecture Campaign Committee. Dan received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University.
STEPHEN PANASCI, Project Designer
Stephen brings a focus on ecological restoration and urban environment to Sikora Wells Appel. When not in the studio, Stephen can often be found practicing ecological restoration in the field, and working with urban farms. Graduating from Temple University with a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture in Spring 2014, he previously attended North Carolina State University, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture with a concentration on Landscape Design.
JASON DOMINGUES, Project Designer
Jason graduated Cum Laude from Temple University’s School of Environmental Design, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture. During his time at Temple, Jason received multiple awards for his achievements, including a PHS Flower Show Leadership Commendation for his work on Temple’s ASLA award-winning exhibit. With over a decade of experience in the customer service industry, Jason brings a strong work ethic, great communication skills, and a passion for collaborative work. As a project designer, he strives to create unique and thoughtful spaces to enrich the human experience as well as the natural environment.
MATTHEW NELSON, Project Designer
Matt joined our firm in 2016 bringing with him four years of professional design experience. He believes in a collaborative process in seeking creative solutions to complex design challenges, and aims to design unique spaces guided by the ecology and history of the enveloping landscape. Prior to joining Sikora Wells Appel, Matt worked on the design of Chanticleer's Elevated Walkway and Longwood Gardens' Meadow Garden, as well as a variety of high-end residences on Philadelphia's Main Line and Chester County. Matt is a graduate of Temple University's Landscape Architecture program.
BRAD DIPADOVA, Project Designer
Brad received his Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Temple University’s School of Environmental Design in 2016. With 12 years' experience as Lead Design Foreman at Knolltop Nursery, Brad brings a strong background in landscape design and construction experience to our firm. Brad loves the natural world and is always looking for the next opportunity to learn and try something new. Snowboarding, mountain biking, surfing and trail running are some of his favorite outdoor pastimes, which have taught him to appreciate the beauty of nature. He has a strong work ethic and a desire to enhance the inherent beauty of each project site while practicing ecologically sound design principles.
JINAH KIM, Project Designer
Jinah joined us last summer as part of our summer internship program. She fit in immediately with her positive work ethic and her understanding of approach for a project while designing with empathy and sensitivity. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania's Master of Landscape Architecture program in May 2017.
She recently helped publish Issue 05 of the LA+ (Landscape Architecture Plus) as an editor. LA+ is a publication the University of Pennsylvania's School of Design distributes annually. Jinah began her journey at Konkuk University in Seoul, Korea; moving to the United States three years ago. While attending school in Korea, she received her Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Environmental Science, graduating with honors. As an Environmental Scientist by profession, she chose to study Landscape Architecture because she saw the potential to shape urban development with the beautiful interventions that contribute to ecological sustainability.
JUDY SIKORA, Financial Manager
Judy has been with the firm since 2005 and is responsible for billing and assisting with financial management. Her caring nature and attention to detail ensure a smoothly running operation and her design background in floral arrangement keeps the office looking great.
KRISTEN HARLOW STONE, Office Manager/Marketing Coordinator
Kristen has over six years of experience at Sikora Wells Appel. She is responsible for management of the administrative aspects of the office and assists with the firm’s marketing efforts. An important member of the team, her sunny demeanor benefits everyone.
